Abhimanyu Easwaranโs father, Ranganathan Easwaran, has revealed that India head coach Gautam Gambhir assured his son of a fair chance in the national side. Although Abhimanyu was part of Indiaโs squads for the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy and the recently concluded Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, he is yet to make his international debut.
On the England tour, Karun Nair and Sai Sudharsan were preferred ahead of Easwaran, but together they managed only a single half-century each in their combined ten innings.

Easwaran received his first Test call-up in December 2022 for the Bangladesh series. However, 15 players have debuted ahead of him since then. He will now be eyeing opportunities in the upcoming Test series against West Indies and South Africa.
