The BCCI announced the Indian team and the new Test captain for the England tour on Saturday, May 24. Shubman Gill will be seen representing India in the longest format of the game. The chief selector of the Indian men’s team also made a big revelation about Virat Kohli’s retirement during the press conference.
Agarkar said that former captain Virat Kohli had met him in April and told him about his decision to retire from Tests. It is worth noting that Kohli announced his retirement from Tests on May 12 before the five-Test series against England starting on June 20.
