Riyan Parag Reflects on RR's Defeat

Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag gave credit for the victory to the visiting team after the crushing defeat of 100 runs against Mumbai Indians. He said that it would have been better if they had stopped the opposing team between 190 to 200 runs. While chasing the target of 218 runs of Mumbai, the Royals team collapsed for 117 runs in 16.1 overs in front of the sharp bowling of Karn Sharma (23/3), Jaspreet Bumrah (15/2) and Trent Boult (28/3). Jofra Archer was the top run scorer from the Royals. He scored 30 runs in 20 balls.

After the match, Riyan Parag has given a big statement about this defeat. Parag said after the match, “You have to give credit to Mumbai Indians for the way they batted. They saved wickets. Yes, a score between 190-200 would have been ideal. We are getting a good start but in the middle order, me and Dhruv (Jural) have to take the innings forward. We have done many things right and wrong. We have made a lot of mistakes. We want to focus on them and also focus on the good things.

Mumbai captain Hardik Pandya said that this match was great for them with bat and ball.Hardik said,

“The way we batted and we performed brilliantly with the ball, it was a perfect match. We could have scored 15 more runs. Surya (Suryakumar) and I said that shots are important… Rohit and Ryan also batted in the same way. I think it was absolutely fantastic.”

Talking about the match, Ryan Rickelton played an innings of 61 runs in 38 balls with three sixes and seven fours. Apart from him, Rohit Sharma (53 runs, 36 balls, nine fours) also scored a half-century. Both of them gave Mumbai an unmatched start by adding 116 runs for the first wicket.

Captain Hardik Pandya (48 not out, 23 balls, six fours, one six) and Surya Kumar Yadav (48 not out, 23 balls, four fours, three sixes) then made an unbeaten partnership of 94 runs in 44 balls in the last overs to take the team to 217 for two.
