Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 14-year-old left-handed batting prodigy, has been appointed vice-captain of Bihar for the opening rounds of the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy, with Sakibul Gani leading the squad. The tournament is set to begin on Wednesday, October 15.
The announcement from the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) came just two days before the season’s start, following the last-minute inclusion of a selector to form a two-member panel, in line with BCCI directives. The BCA has been asked to finalize a five-member selection panel soon.
