PSG’s Achraf Hakimi has officially been crowned African Player of the Year 2025, marking one of the biggest milestones of his career. The PSG right-back delivered a sensational season that firmly established him as one of Europe’s most complete defenders. This year’s CAF ceremony in Rabat celebrated the achievement, making PSG’s Achraf Hakimi the first Moroccan winner since Mustapha Hadji in 1998, a historic moment for the nation.

In the voting process, PSG’s Hakimi finished ahead of Mohamed Salah, Victor Osimhen, and Serhou Guirassy. The result was determined by the head coaches and captains of Africa’s national teams, recognizing the exceptional influence PSG’s Achraf Hakimi had throughout the year. Despite suffering an ankle injury during PSG’s win over Bayern Munich on 4 November, he still travelled to Morocco for the event.
The ceremony was attended by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Gianni Infantino, and Walid Regragui, showing the high-profile support behind PSG’s Achraf Hakimi.
