With just over two weeks left in the year, the football world is ready for its final grand celebration. As the curtain prepares to fall on another memorable FIFA season, the game’s biggest stars and masterminds will gather tonight (Tuesday) to be recognized for their brilliance. FIFA’s prestigious The Best Awards will take place at the Fairmont Katara Hall in Doha, Qatar, bringing together the finest names in global football.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11:00 pm Bangladesh time and will honor outstanding performances from the past year across men’s and women’s football.
FIFA The Best Awards: Date, Venue, and Live Viewing
Introduced in 2017, FIFA The Best Awards celebrate excellence in football annually. This year’s gala in Doha will once again spotlight players, coaches, goalkeepers, fans, and unforgettable moments from the game.
Fans around the world can watch the ceremony free of charge, with live coverage available on FIFA’s official website and YouTube channel, ensuring global access to football’s biggest night.
Star Players Lead the Race for Top Honours
The highlight of the evening will be the announcement of The Best FIFA Men’s Player and The Best FIFA Women’s Player. Among the 11 nominees for the men’s award, Ousmane Dembélé and teenage sensation Lamine Yamal stand out after finishing first and second in the Ballon d’Or voting earlier this year.
“The competition is extremely tight this year, and every vote could make the difference,” one football analyst noted ahead of the ceremony.
Alongside the main awards, honors will also be presented for best coaches, goalkeepers, goals of the year, fair play, and fan contributions, covering both men’s and women’s football.
How the Winners Are Chosen
Winners are decided through a balanced voting system involving four groups:
- National team captains
- National team coaches
- Selected journalists
- Fans worldwide
Each group carries equal weight. Voters selected their top three choices, awarding 5 points for first, 3 for second, and 1 for third. The player with the highest total is crowned the winner.
“The idea is to make the process as fair and inclusive as possible,” FIFA explained, emphasizing the equal role of fans and professionals in shaping the results.
