Lamine Yamal delivered a moment of brilliance as Barcelona cruised to a 3-0 victory over bottom-placed Real Oviedo, reclaiming the top spot in La Liga after their previous setback against Real Sociedad. Dani Olmo and Rafinha also found the net, but it was the teenage sensation who stole the spotlight with a breathtaking finish.
“𝑰𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝒈𝒐𝒂𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒖𝒎,” 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝑩𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒂 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒇𝒇 𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅, 𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏 𝒀𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒍’𝒔 𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒆𝒇𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒕.
The 18-year-old latched onto a cross from the edge of the box and sent a perfectly placed strike beyond goalkeeper Aaron Escandell, nestling the ball inside the far post to ignite the home crowd.
Barcelona Second-Half Surge Seals Comfortable Win
Barcelona struggled to break through in the opening 45 minutes as Oviedo held firm and even threatened through Elias Chaira and Haisem Hassan. However, Hansi Flick’s side returned with renewed intensity after the break, firing more shots in the first nine minutes of the second half than they managed in the entire opening period.
Olmo finally broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute after pressure from Yamal forced a defensive error. Yamal then doubled the lead with his acrobatic strike in the 73rd minute, before Rafinha added the finishing touch late on.
“𝑾𝒆 𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒐𝒂𝒍𝒔 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒊𝒇 𝒘𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒅 𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕,” 𝑭𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒌 𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒅𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉.
With the win, Barcelona moved to 52 points from 21 matches, edging one point clear of Real Madrid, who had briefly gone top just 24 hours earlier.
