BAN vs PAK 2025: Bangladesh mourns Dhaka school tragedy

Bangladesh and Pakistan are set to clash in the second T20I of the ongoing series at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Tuesday, July 22. The home side enters the match with a chance to clinch the series after a convincing seven-wicket win in the first game.

However, cricket will take a backseat momentarily as Bangladesh players will wear black armbands to honor the victims of a devastating plane crash that occurred on Monday at Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Uttara area. A training aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force tragically crashed into the school building during class hours, killing at least 20 people and injuring over 170 others.

Pakistan Win Toss, Make a Change for 2nd T20I

In the second T20I, Pakistan’s stand-in captain Salman Agha won the toss and opted to bowl first. The visitors made one change β€” Ahmed Daniyal made his international debut, replacing Abrar Ahmed. For Bangladesh, Mohammad Naim and Shoriful Islam came in for Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Taskin Ahmed.

Pakistan got off to a strong start as Faheem Ashraf dismissed Naim for just 3 runs in the second over. With one eye on the series win, Bangladesh will hope Emon can replicate his previous match-winning performance.
