Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen has found himself at the centre of a heated controversy after publicly tearing a legal notice from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in a viral video. Tareen, who owns one of the most valuable franchises in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), pays a massive annual fee of USD 6.35 million, the highest among all six teams.
PCB Warns of Termination and Blacklisting
The PCB issued a stern warning to Tareen, stating that the Sultansβ franchise contract could be terminated if he failed to apologise for his remarks about the board. Reports suggested that if Tareen didnβt retract his statements, he would be blacklisted from future PSL dealings.
The situation escalated on Thursday, October 23, when news of the legal notice surfaced. Tareen, known for his outspoken views, had repeatedly questioned the PCBβs claims of financial success regarding the PSL, accusing the board of mismanagement and poor administration in multiple public forums.
