T20

It was announced last year that Nazmul Hossain Shanto would step down as the captain of the T20 team. Liton Das was last seen as the captain of the Tigers in the series against the West Indies. However, BCB President Faruk Ahmed has not yet confirmed who will take over the reins.

The BCB president, while addressing the media at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday, said, “We will take a decision. It will be known very soon. Two or three people have already captained the T20Is, who are not yet out of the team. We will try someone like that.”

The BCB will start planning for the upcoming World Cup from now on. That is why the BCB wants to keep the cricketers in the plan from now on. The board president is paying extra attention to the cricketers in implementing the plan.

In this regard, Farooq said, ‘We will try. I do not believe in the next World Cup (plan to do better). When I was a selector in the World Cup in 2007, Tamim-Shakib-Mushfiqur came to the limelight. A policy will be given by the board. We will tell you what we want. We will discuss with cricket operations and think about how to take our cricket forward.’

Regarding the upcoming Pakistan series, the BCB president said, ‘Pakistan has already informed us that they will do a tour outside the FTP and will come to play in Bangladesh. It can be organized within a very busy schedule, probably in July. We have confirmed the matter, but the media will be officially informed when the final decision is made.’
