Virat Kohli

Indian batting legend Virat Kohli’s much-awaited comeback to international cricket turned sour as he recorded consecutive ducks in the opening two ODIs of the series against Australia. Returning to the squad after a seven-month hiatus, both Kohli and Rohit Sharma hoped to make an impact, but only Rohit managed to do so, scoring a solid 73 in the second game.

Despite Kohli’s rare batting failures, his on-field brilliance shone through during the second ODI at Adelaide. His tactical awareness played a crucial part in the dismissal of Travis Head, who was looking dangerous during Australia’s run chase of 265.

Kohli’s Mind Game That Led to Head’s Fall

A viral video captured the moment when Kohli casually walked up to Head, placed a hand on his shoulder, and exchanged a few words before the next delivery. Moments later, pacer Harshit Rana bowled one that Head miscued, sending the ball high in the air — straight into Kohli’s hands at mid-off.

“𝑲𝒐𝒉𝒍𝒊’𝒔 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒖𝒃𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝒈𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒔𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝒎𝒂𝒅𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒊𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕,” 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒂 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝒅𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒃𝒓𝒐𝒂𝒅𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒕.

Head’s wicket gave India a much-needed breakthrough, though the hosts remained in control. Australia eventually chased down the target in 46.2 overs, winning by two wickets. Matthew Short starred with a 74-run knock, while Cooper Connolly anchored the chase with an unbeaten 61.

India Eye Redemption in T20I Series

Although the wicket didn’t change the result, Kohli’s involvement reminded fans of his sharp cricketing instincts. With Australia sealing the ODI series 2–0, both sides now prepare for the upcoming five-match T20I series, where India will hope to turn the tide.

“𝑯𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒚 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒃𝒆 𝒔𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒓𝒖𝒏𝒔, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝑲𝒐𝒉𝒍𝒊’𝒔 𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒂,” 𝒂 𝒇𝒂𝒏 𝒘𝒓𝒐𝒕𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝑿 (𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒍𝒚 𝑻𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓).
