Rain Abandons Clash, Rockets Progress

The Trent Rockets secured their spot in the Men’s Hundred final after their Eliminator match against the Northern Superchargers was washed out at The Oval. Despite multiple attempts to restart, heavy showers forced the game to be abandoned, and Rockets advanced thanks to their higher finish in the group stage.

The contest, originally scheduled for a 6pm start, was delayed, interrupted twice for more than an hour, and eventually called off at 9:52 pm. Rockets had twice been given revised targets β€” 134 off 75 balls and then 105 off 55 β€” but persistent rain meant neither chase could be completed.

Rockets Advance, Superchargers Left Frustrated

This outcome was a harsh blow for Brook’s Superchargers, who had been level on points with Rockets until the final week of the group stage. Their loss earlier in the week handed second place to Rockets, and with no reserve day for the Eliminator, they were knocked out.

Dan Lawrence’s unbeaten 44 helped Superchargers reach 119 for 5 in their 75-ball innings, while David Willey gave Rockets a strong start by dismissing Zak Crawley early. However, the weather dictated the outcome, leaving fans and players frustrated.

The Rockets will now face Oval Invincibles in Sunday’s final at Lord’s, with just under 20 hours to regroup for the title clash.
