Real Madrid Apologize After ‘Human Error’ in Jota Tribute

Real Madrid

Liverpool forward Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva tragically passed away in a severe car accident in Spain last July. Real Madrid had scheduled a tribute for him on Sunday, but the club faced backlash after an unexpected mistake forced them to issue an apology.

During their planned tribute video, Real accidentally displayed the wrong photo, leading to widespread criticism across social media.

Wrong Image Sparks Backlash During Assembly

The error occurred during a general assembly in Madrid, where the club mistakenly showed a photo of Andre da Silva, a player from Elche, instead of Jota’s brother.

As club officials realized the mistake, they moved quickly to clarify the situation.

“𝑰𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒓 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒗𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒐, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒆 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒂𝒑𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒊𝒛𝒆,” 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝑴𝒂𝒅𝒓𝒊𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑭𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒐 𝑷é𝒓𝒆𝒛.

He emphasized that the incorrect image was the result of a simple but unfortunate mistake.

“𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒑𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒂 𝒉𝒖𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒓,” 𝑷é𝒓𝒆𝒛 𝒂𝒅𝒅𝒆𝒅.

Real Madrid Earn Late Draw to Go Top of the Table

On the same day, Real Madrid faced Elche in their La Liga fixture. Thanks to a dramatic late goal from Jude Bellingham, Madrid avoided defeat and secured a draw. Despite dropping points, they climbed to the top of the league standings, now sitting one point ahead of Barcelona.
