Chinnaswamy Stadium Stampede After RCB’s Victory
Following Royal Challengers Bengaluruβs (RCB) historic IPL 2025 win, a celebration at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium turned into a nightmare. The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) had organized a felicitation event in Bengaluru, attracting thousands of fans. Tragically, poor crowd management led to a stampede, resulting in at least seven deaths and several injuries.
While the government had earlier canceled the victory parade from Vidhana Soudha to Chinnaswamy Stadium for security reasons, the crowd outside the stadium grew uncontrollable. Police resorted to a lathi-charge, causing panic among fans hoping to catch a glimpse of Virat Kohli and the victorious squad.
