Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Punjab Kings by 6 runs in the IPL 2025 final played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3 and won their maiden IPL title. RCB’s victory parade was held in Bengaluru on Wednesday, June 4, to celebrate winning the trophy for the first time in 18 years. However, during the parade, the situation became uncontrollable due to the huge crowd near the Chinnaswamy Stadium, and a stampede occurred.
11 people died in this tragic accident, while many were injured. As soon as the Karnataka government came to know about the incident, it immediately directed the administration to control the situation.

The government has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for each person who died during the stampede and announced that bear all medical expenses of the injured. The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has also promised an additional compensation of Rs 5 lakh for each deceased.
Apart from this, the RCB franchise has also announced financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to each family of the 11 deceased. RCB has also promised to start a fund called ‘RCB Cares’ for the injured. The Karnataka government has handed over the investigation of this incident to the CID.

Let us tell you that in its status report submitted to the court, the government said that an FIR has been registered at the Cubbon Park police station under crime number 123/2025 under sections 105, 125(1)(2), 132, 121/1, 190 with 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS). Now the FIR has been handed over to the CID with instructions to form an SIT for further investigation.
A case was filed against RCB, KSCA, and event organisers
We would like to inform you that a case has been registered against RCB, KSCA, DNA Network, and others involved in organizing the celebration. This FIR, registered by the Cubbon Park Police, was confirmed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Central, Shekhar H. Tekkannavar.
