England’s star forward Raheem Sterling has once again been the victim of a terrifying home intrusion. The Chelsea winger, who previously endured a similar ordeal during the 2022 Qatar World Cup, faced another robbery attempt—this time while he and his family were inside the house. Thankfully, no one was harmed as the masked intruder failed to break in.
Second Robbery Attempt at Sterling’s Home
According to The Guardian, a masked man tried to force his way into Sterling’s property late on Saturday night. Fortunately, the burglar was unsuccessful, and the family escaped unharmed. A family representative confirmed the distressing news, saying:
“𝑹𝒂𝒉𝒆𝒆𝒎 𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒎 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒆𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒃𝒖𝒓𝒈𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒚. 𝑯𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒂𝒕 𝒉𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒇𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒚 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆. 𝑨𝒍𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒄𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒅, 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒇𝒆.”
The spokesperson further requested the public to respect the family’s privacy as they deal with this emotional ordeal.
Police and Club Launch Investigation
Both Chelsea FC and Thames Valley Police have initiated investigations into the incident. Authorities confirmed that they are gathering evidence and have urged residents to stay alert.
“𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒗𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒈𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒊𝒏𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒔 𝒖𝒓𝒈𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅,” 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅.
This is not the first time Sterling’s home has been targeted. During the 2022 FIFA World Cup, while Sterling was in Qatar representing England, robbers broke into his house, prompting him to fly back home mid-tournament to ensure his family’s safety.
Sterling’s Career Situation Amid the Incident
Rahim continues to live with his long-term partner, Paige Milian, and their children in the same residence that has now faced two break-in attempts. Professionally, the 30-year-old forward has two years remaining on his Chelsea contract worth £300,000 a week.
However, he has not yet featured in the club’s main squad this season. Head coach Enzo Maresca has reportedly indicated that Sterling will not be called up in the near future. After an underwhelming loan spell at Arsenal last season and his absence from the England national team since 2022, Sterling’s career appears to be at a crossroads.
Despite the frightening ordeal, Rahim and his family are said to be safe but shaken. As the investigations continue, fans have rallied behind the footballer, calling for stronger security measures for players and their families.
