Phil Salt has returned home

According to ESPNCricinfo, Phil Salt has returned home for the birth of his first child. The Royal Challengers Bangalore team practiced at the Narendra Modi Stadium before the final. Salt was nowhere to be seen during this practice session as well. However, Salt was not the only player who was not a part of the practice session.

In the press conference before the final match, coach Andy Flower and captain Rajat Patidar did not mention Salt’s absence. Let us tell you, Flower is a person who is known to keep his players’ matters to himself. He once even included injured players in warm-up practice to trick his opponents.

Salt has performed brilliantly for the Royal Challengers Bangalore

In IPL 2025, Phil Salt has played 12 matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore, in which he has scored 387 runs at an average of 35.18, a strike rate of 175.90. Four half-century innings have also been seen from his bat. He played an unbeaten innings of 56 runs in 27 balls against Punjab Kings in Qualifier-1 and played a big role in the team’s victory.

Jacob Bethell has already returned home due to national duty. In such a situation, RCB will have to face problems due to Salt’s absence. Tim Seifert was signed by the franchise as a replacement. But Mayank Agarwal seems to be the best option for the opening slot. If Phil Salt is not available, Mayank Agarwal can be seen opening with Virat Kohli.
