Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli will play his 300th ODI against New Zealand today.

Indian batsman Virat Kohli will take the field in Dubai to play his 300th ODI on March 02. Before this match, New Zealand’s star all-rounder Glenn Phillips said that the ‘legacy’ of India’s star batsman will shine for many years and will ‘inspire’ generations of young cricketers. Kohli will become the seventh cricketer from India to achieve this feat after great cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Rahul Dravid, Mohammad Azharuddin, Sourav Ganguly and Yuvraj Singh.

Glenn Phillips, who has played with Virat Kohli for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, said, “He is definitely a great player. It is great for me to know him a little bit personally. “He is a very hardworking player and whatever he has done not only for the game but also for Indian cricket and for the young players is great,” he said before the match against India in the Champions Trophy.

Glenn Phillips praised Virat Kohli a lot

The Kiwi all-rounder further said that playing 300 ODIs is a great achievement in modern-day cricket when emphasis is being given to T20 cricket. He said about this, I think his legacy will be remembered for a long time in the future, which will inspire many people.

Playing 300 ODIs is a big achievement, especially in today’s time where ODI cricket is not played like before. So it is really great for him. Phillips hoped that New Zealand’s senior player Kane Williamson will also soon join Kohli in terms of scoring runs.

Virat Kohli has already scored a century against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy 2025. In such a situation, he would like to make it memorable by playing a big innings in his 300th ODI match as well. The result of this match will decide who will be number one and number two in the points table in Group A.
