Dhaka Mohammedan SC, the reigning champions of the Bangladesh Premier League, remain stuck in a frustrating run of draws as they were held to a goalless result by Brothers Union on Friday. After earlier stalemates against Rahmatganj and Arambagh, the black-and-white brigade once again failed to secure three points.
After completing nine matches in the first leg, Mohammedan have collected just 10 points, a return far below expectations for the defending champions.

Goalless Match Amid National Mourning
The match at the Flight Lt Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj began with a minute’s silence, as the country observed three days of national mourning following the death of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
Despite playing at home, Brothers Union struggled to create scoring chances and failed to find the net. Mohammedan, meanwhile, also lacked sharpness in front of goal, resulting in a dull 0–0 draw.
Mozaffarov’s Absence Hurts Mohammedan
One of the biggest talking points was the absence of Uzbek midfielder Mozaffarov, whose influence was clearly missed. The foreign star has left Bangladesh for family reasons and will not feature again this season.
Known for his powerful long-range strikes, deadly set-pieces, and defensive work rate, Mozaffarov played a key role in Mohammedan’s title-winning campaign last year.

Brothers Union Hold Firm
Brothers Union, featuring Bangladesh national team captain Jamal Bhuiyan, now sit seventh in the table with nine points from nine matches. The remaining first-leg fixtures will be played tomorrow, with further changes expected in the standings.
As the season progresses, pressure is mounting on Mohammedan to rediscover their winning formula before falling too far behind the league leaders.
