Former India pacer Yograj Singh hailed Mohammed Siraj for his sensational fast bowling during the recently concluded Test series against England. Siraj’s standout performance came on the final day of the fifth Test at The Oval, where his fiery five-wicket haul helped India secure a thrilling six-run win, drawing the series 2–2.
Mohammed Siraj Tops Wicket Charts with Grit and Consistency
Siraj emerged as the leading wicket-taker of the five-match Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, finishing with 23 wickets at an average of 32.43 and a strike rate of 48.39. Known for his work ethic and perseverance, Siraj bowled more overs than any other bowler in the series.

Gill’s Leadership and India’s Comeback Impress Yograj
Alongside his praise for Siraj, Yograj Singh also applauded Shubman Gill’s captaincy, stating that the youngster led the team with remarkable maturity despite being new to the role.

India had a rollercoaster journey through the series. After losing the opener at Headingley, they bounced back with a historic win at Edgbaston. England edged ahead again at Lord’s, but India fought hard at Old Trafford to force a draw. The decisive final Test at The Oval saw India seal a memorable win, etching it into the record books.
Gill, who scored 754 runs in 10 innings at an average of 75.40, topped the run charts and was named Player of the Series alongside England’s Harry Brook, who tallied 481 runs at 53.44. Gill’s stellar form included four centuries, one of which was a double hundred in the second Test.
