During a conversation on Star Sports, Mohammad Kaif said, ‘I was also surprised to see the form of Shreyas Iyer. He has neither played Tests nor is his name in the T20 team. You are not constantly in the team. After playing a brilliant innings in the Ranji Trophy for Mumbai, Iyer came straight into the team and played his natural game.
I admire this batsman because there were many players who came to bat at number four but only he performed brilliantly in this order. Shreyas Iyer came and made his place. He also played some important innings. Shreyas Iyer did not get the Player of the Match award even once in this series.
