Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) performed brilliantly and defeated table topper Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 64th match of IPL 2025. The Rishabh Pant-led side put up a big score of 235 runs on the board and restricted GT to 202 to register a big win by 33 runs. The Lucknow team played this match without their key spinner Divesh Rathi. He was suspended for one match.

LSG pacer Akash Singh made sure fans didn’t miss Digvesh too much as he did his famous notebook celebration after taking the big wicket of Jos Buttler. The left-arm pacer out-smarted the experienced T20 batsman and dismissed him for 33 runs off 18 balls.

LSG vs GT: Digvesh fined one match for notebook celebration

Digvesh had been in the news since the beginning of the season for his notebook celebration, although the BCCI had fined him for provoking the batsman, but he did not listen. Now when the BCCI banned him for one match after a clash with Abhishek Sharma, another LSG player took a dig at the BCCI by doing the notebook celebration.

After losing the toss and batting first, Lucknow Super Giants scored 235 runs at the loss of 2 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs on the basis of Mitchell Marsh’s century. Chasing this score, the host team could only score 202 runs at the loss of 9 wickets. Lucknow won this match by 33 runs.

With 6 wins in 13 matches, Lucknow Super Giants are at the 7th position in the IPL 2025 points table. The Rishabh Pant-led side is already out of the tournament. On the other hand, Gujarat team has confirmed its place in the playoffs. Both the teams have to play one more match in their league stage.
