Juventus have officially confirmed the appointment of former Italy manager Luciano Spalletti as their new head coach, signing a deal that will run until the end of the season. The move marks a major step for Juventus, who are looking to stabilize their campaign after a difficult start in Serie A.

The decision follows the sacking of Igor Tudor, who was dismissed after three consecutive defeats and an eight-game winless streak that dated back to mid-September. Interim coach Massimo Brambilla managed to end that poor run with a 3–1 win over Udinese on Wednesday, leaving the club seventh in the Serie A table after nine matches.
Under interim coach Massimo Brambilla, Juventus finally returned to winning ways with a 3–1 victory over Udinese on Wednesday. Despite the result, Juventus currently sit in seventh place in the Serie A table after nine matches, a position far below the club’s expectations.
Reports suggest that Spalletti’s contract with Juventus includes an automatic renewal clause if he succeeds in leading the team to Champions League qualification. The club’s management views this appointment as a fresh start aimed at restoring Juventus to their rightful place among Europe’s elite.
“We are delighted to welcome a coach with such expertise and experience to the Juventus family,” read an official club statement. “Welcome to Juventus, and good luck, coach!”
Spalletti returns to club football after a successful spell with Napoli, where he famously led them to the Serie A title in 2023, ending a 33-year drought. His two-year stint as Italy boss that followed proved less successful, leading to his departure earlier this year.

He becomes the club’s third permanent manager since Massimiliano Allegri was sacked in May 2024. Allegri’s successor Thiago Motta was removed in March after a brief and turbulent spell, while Tudor’s recent struggles brought another managerial change.
The Turin giants haven’t lifted the league trophy since 2020, the last of their nine consecutive titles, and Spalletti’s arrival is seen as a bid to restore their dominance in Italian football.
His first game in charge will be against Cremonese in Serie A on Saturday, followed by a vital Champions League clash with Sporting Lisbon three days later.
