IPL 2025 Cancelled Amid India-Pakistan War, Confirms Cricket Board

Tension is increasing between India and Pakistan. In such a situation, big news has come out regarding IPL 2025. The 18th season of the Indian Premier League has been postponed indefinitely. IPL 2025 started on 22 March. By May 7, 57 matches had been played. A match was to be played between Punjab and Delhi in Dharamsala on May 8, but the match was stopped midway. After this, the match was announced to be cancelled. Now the postponement of IPL has been announced.

BCCI official gave a big statement regarding IPL

A BCCI official was quoted by NDTV as saying,

“It doesn’t look good to play cricket when there is a war going on in the country.”

Let us tell you, 58 matches have been played so far in the ongoing 18th season, while 12 matches of the league stage are still left. The tournament’s final was scheduled for May 25 in Kolkata.

IPL 2025 postponed amid terror attack

There was a cloud of uncertainty over IPL 2025 after Thursday’s match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala was called off midway following reports of airstrikes in Jammu and Pathankot. A blackout was imposed in several districts including Punjab’s Pathankot, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Mohali and the Union Territory of Chandigarh on Thursday amid reports of air raid warnings and sounds resembling explosions in Jammu.

The Indian Premier League was put on hold indefinitely as tensions between India and Pakistan escalated. At the same time, the Pakistan Cricket Board has also taken a big decision regarding the Pakistan Super League. The PSL has now been moved to the United Arab Emirates, or UAE, by the board.
