After enduring three consecutive defeats in the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, India Women finally bounced back in style with a crucial win over New Zealand Women on Thursday, October 23. The victory not only restored confidence but also sealed India’s spot in the semi-finals of the marquee event.
One of the major highlights of the match was Jemimah Rodrigues’ promotion to the No. 3 position, where she played a stunning unbeaten knock of 76 runs off just 55 balls. Interestingly, this came after she was dropped from the previous game as the team experimented with combinations in search of balance.
Reflecting on India’s turnaround, Jemimah emphasized the team’s unity and mental resilience amid intense scrutiny.
“𝑾𝒆 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒕. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝒂 𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖’𝒓𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖’𝒓𝒆 𝒅𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒖𝒕. 𝑾𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝒈𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒂 𝒓𝒐𝒘, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒂 𝒍𝒐𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒎,” 𝑱𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒉 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅.
She further praised the team’s togetherness and belief during tough times.

Navi Mumbai Feels Like Home, Says Jemimah Rodrigues
Looking ahead, the Indian team will play their final league stage match against Bangladesh Women on Sunday, October 26, at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai — a venue Jemimah fondly calls home.
“𝑵𝒂𝒗𝒊 𝑴𝒖𝒎𝒃𝒂𝒊 𝒊𝒔 𝒉𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒎𝒆. 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆’𝒔 𝒂 𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒕𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒈𝒆 𝒏𝒖𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒖𝒔,” 𝑱𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒉 𝒕𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒄𝒄𝒊.𝒕𝒗.
