India captain Harmanpreet Kaur expressed complete confidence in her squad as they gear up for one of the biggest nights in Indian cricket — the Women’s World Cup 2025 final against South Africa in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, November 2.

The skipper highlighted the significance of embracing the moment without letting pressure take over. She emphasized how focusing on smaller goals can pave the way to achieving the ultimate one.

“𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒊𝒈𝒈𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒓,” 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅. “𝑾𝒆 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒆𝒏𝒋𝒐𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒌𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒔𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒔 𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒊𝒈𝒈𝒆𝒓 𝒑𝒊𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆.”

Harmanpreet Learning from Painful Past to Build a Stronger Present

Harmanpreet acknowledged the heartbreak of India falling short at this stage in 2005 and 2017, adding that the team has learned from those experiences and is determined not to let another opportunity slip away.

“𝑾𝒆 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒊𝒕 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒂 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝑪𝒖𝒑 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒍. 𝑾𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒋𝒐𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏𝒆,” 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒅. “𝑾𝒆’𝒗𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝒆𝒙𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒕’𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒃𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒍𝒅.”

The star all-rounder also shed light on the dressing-room atmosphere, saying the team has been preparing mentally and technically for a home World Cup for the last couple of years.

She stressed how unity, mutual support, and belief will be key in the title clash.

“𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒈𝒆𝒅 𝒖𝒑 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓,” 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒖𝒆𝒅. “𝑨𝒍𝒍 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒅 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒘𝒐 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔. 𝑵𝒐𝒘, 𝒊𝒕’𝒔 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒖𝒓 100%.”

Road to the Final

India booked their place in the final after defeating Australia in a record run chase in women’s ODIs, securing seven points from their league fixtures.

Meanwhile, South Africa sealed their spot with a commanding semi-final performance and has a psychological edge, having defeated India earlier in the tournament by three wickets.

With the stakes at their highest and both teams in top form, cricket fans can expect a thrilling battle for world supremacy — and India will be eager to write a new chapter in their cricketing history.
