The Bangladesh–India football rivalry always brings intense excitement, and today was no different. Long before kickoff, the stands at the National Stadium were filled to the brim. Several advisors, dignitaries, and high-profile personalities also arrived to witness the highly anticipated showdown.
Bangladesh secured a memorable 2-1 victory over India, ending a 22-year wait. The joyous roar inside the stadium reflected the emotional weight of this triumph. Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan joined the celebrations by visiting the players in the dressing room.

In recognition of the team’s extraordinary performance, Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan announced a Tk 2 crore reward for Hamza and the national team. According to team manager Amer Khan, this announcement significantly boosted the morale of the footballers.

Meanwhile, BFF President Kazi Salauddin reached the team hotel to join a celebratory dinner. Hamza is scheduled to fly back to England tomorrow morning.
The Sports Advisor has also been supportive of women’s football. He previously provided Tk 1.5 crore to the women’s team in two installments—Tk 1 crore for winning the SAFF Championship last year and Tk 50 lakh for qualifying for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup. Both commitments were fulfilled. In contrast, the BFF had pledged Tk 1.5 crore to the women’s team for their SAFF victory but has yet to deliver the amount, even after a year.
