Hamza Stuns Fans by Taking Up Goalkeeping Duties

Bangladesh

Bangladesh finally ended their 22-year wait for a victory over India, securing a memorable 1-0 win at the Dhaka National Stadium. Morsalin’s decisive strike sealed the victory, sending the home supporters into a frenzy. While fans showered praise on Hamza Chowdhury for his all-round performance, their frustration with head coach Javier Cabrera resurfaced once again.

Bangladesh Ends 22-Year Drought Against India

One spectator, Ashish from Jatrabari, expressed his admiration for Hamza’s versatility.
“Before today, it felt like the only thing left for Hamza to do was goalkeeping,” he said with a laugh. “But the way he cleared the ball off the line with that brilliant header — he practically acted as the goalkeeper too! If there’s something beyond being an all-rounder, that is Hamza. He is truly Sabyasachi.”

Fans Question Cabrera’s Decisions Yet Again

Despite the victory, many fans remained dissatisfied with the coach’s tactical choices. Ashish added that Cabrera’s decisions nearly cost Bangladesh the match once more. According to him, Hamza frequently approached the coach during the game to seek clarity.

“𝑴𝒂𝒚𝒃𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕’𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒚 𝒘𝒆 𝒅𝒊𝒅𝒏’𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉 𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒐𝒅𝒂𝒚. 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝑯𝒂𝒎𝒛𝒂’𝒔 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑, 𝒘𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒉𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒂 𝒘𝒊𝒏.”

Another fan standing nearby voiced a strong warning to the Bangladesh Football Federation, saying,

“𝑾𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒑𝒆 𝑩𝑭𝑭 𝒘𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒆𝒙𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒂𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒓𝒂’𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕. 𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒅𝒐, 𝒘𝒆 𝒇𝒂𝒏𝒔 𝒘𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒚 𝒔𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒕.”

Cabrera’s contract with BFF remains valid until April 2026.

Meanwhile, excitement around the Bangladesh-India matchup remained sky-high. Tickets reportedly sold out within minutes, yet several areas of the gallery were still empty when the match began. Supporters alleged that black-market ticket sales caused the issue. They claimed that although BFF announced a quick sell-out, tickets resurfaced at inflated prices right before kick-off.

Fans warned that such mismanagement could even distract players. As one supporter commented, “This kind of ticket chaos is unacceptable. If this continues, even Hamza will lose focus.”
