Paraguayan midfielder Andres Cubas was set to represent his country in matches against the United States and Mexico, but an unusual mishap prevented him from joining the team. The Vancouver Whitecaps midfielder lost his passport in a washing machine, making it impossible for him to leave Canada for the fixtures.
Cubas has been a member of the Paraguayan national team since 2019 and was again selected for this international window. However, the midfielder accidentally washed his trousers with his passport still inside, and it was never recovered.

Cubas Visa Delay Prevents Quick Return
Although Cubas quickly obtained a replacement passport, the visa process could not be completed in time, preventing him from leaving Canada to join the team. Paraguay went on to lose 2-1 to the United States but later defeated Mexico by the same scoreline.
