Maracanã, December 21, 2025 – Corinthians secured their fourth Copa do Brasil Final title with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Vasco at Maracanã on Sunday, following a goalless draw in the first leg.
Continuing a tradition of winning the Copa do Brasil Final away from home, Corinthians previously lifted the trophy at:
- 1995: Beating Grêmio at the old Estádio Olímpico
- 2002: Defeating surprise finalists Brasiliense in Brasília
- 2009: Overcoming Internacional at Beira-Rio
First Half in Copa do Brasil Final: Nervous Start
The first half of the Copa do Brasil Final was tense, with nerves outweighing quality football. Corinthians opened the scoring before the 20-minute mark through Yuri Alberto, who later missed a similar opportunity.
Vasco equalized just before halftime with a Nuno Moreira header, leveling the score at 1-1 and setting up a tense second half in the Copa do Brasil Final.
Corinthians Take Control
After the break, challenges grew more physical, with tempers flaring and refereeing under pressure. Clear goal chances were rare, but Corinthians struck again before the 20-minute mark:
Breno Bidon showcased brilliant individual skill, dribbling past Cauan Barros in midfield to set up Matheuzinho. The right-back delivered a precise ball to Yuri Alberto, who unselfishly passed to an unmarked Memphis Depay, who calmly slotted it into the net for the decisive goal of the Copa do Brasil Final.
In stoppage time of the Copa do Brasil , Rayan had a chance to equalize from a free kick at the edge of the area, but Hugo Souza produced a spectacular save to secure Corinthians’ victory.
