Travis Head

Star Australian all-rounder Travis Head has officially re-signed with Adelaide Strikers ahead of the 2025–26 Big Bash League (BBL) season. The southpaw, who made his debut for the Strikers in the 2012–13 edition, will continue to represent his hometown franchise — a team he has been loyal to throughout his BBL career.

Head expressed that it was an easy choice to extend his deal, citing his emotional connection with Adelaide Oval and the passionate local fans who have supported him over the years.

“𝑰𝒕’𝒔 𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒂𝒅𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒐𝒏. 𝑰𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒚 𝒅𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝑨𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒊𝒅𝒆,” 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅. “𝑨𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝑶𝒗𝒂𝒍 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝑨𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒂, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒆’𝒓𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒘𝒆𝒍𝒍-𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒇𝒂𝒏𝒔.”

The left-hander added that he is excited to contribute once again for the Strikers, depending on his availability during what promises to be a busy summer for Australian cricket.

Tim Paine Praises Travis Head’s Impact and Leadership

Strikers head coach Tim Paine expressed delight over Travis Head’s decision to stay, emphasizing the importance of his leadership and experience in the squad. The former Australia wicketkeeper also acknowledged that Head’s international commitments — including the home Ashes series starting November 21 — could limit his BBL appearances this season.

“𝑾𝒆’𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒘𝒆𝒍𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒔 𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒌𝒆𝒓𝒔 — 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒃𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒔𝒐 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒈𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑,” 𝑷𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅. “𝑾𝒆 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝒔𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒍𝒆, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒘𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒏’𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒊𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒔.”

Over the years, Travis Head has been one of the Strikers’ most dependable performers. In 57 BBL matches, he has amassed 1,394 runs at a strike rate of 130.40, including a memorable century off just 53 balls during the fifth edition of the tournament. With his renewed deal, the 31-year-old will look to further strengthen his legacy at his beloved club.
