Spanish champions Barcelona delivered an emphatic response to their recent La Liga setback by storming back to claim a 4-2 victory over Slavia Prague in the UEFA Champions League. After conceding an early goal inside the opening 10 minutes, a stunning brace from Fermín López swung the momentum in favor of the Blaugrana before a dramatic contest unfolded in Prague.

López Leads the Revival in Prague

Playing at the Fortuna Arena on Wednesday night, Barcelona dominated possession with nearly 60 percent of the ball and registered 17 attempts, 12 of them testing the goalkeeper. Slavia Prague, by contrast, managed just two shots on target from eight efforts.

Despite missing teenage sensation Lamine Yamal through suspension, Hansi Flick’s side found its rhythm quickly. However, it was the hosts who struck first, as Vasil Kušej finished from close range following a headed assist.

Barcelona responded with pressure, and López delivered the equalizer in the 34th minute, latching onto a pass from Frenkie de Jong before slotting home. Barely a minute later, the midfielder fired from distance to give the visitors a 2-1 advantage. Slavia hit back through an unfortunate own goal off Robert Lewandowski, leveling the match once again.

“𝑾𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒇, 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒚,” 𝑳ó𝒑𝒆𝒛 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅. “𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒔 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒅.”

Olmo and Lewandowski Seal the Win

The breakthrough arrived shortly after halftime when substitute Dani Olmo unleashed a powerful strike from outside the box to restore Barcelona’s lead. Lewandowski then made amends for his earlier misfortune by turning in a low cross to make it 4-2 in the 70th minute.

“𝑰𝒕’𝒔 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒌𝒆𝒆𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒇𝒐𝒄𝒖𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒔,” 𝑭𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒌 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒅. “𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒅 𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕.”

With the victory, Barcelona climbed to ninth place in the standings with 13 points from seven matches, keeping their hopes of reaching the knockout stage firmly alive as the final round of the group phase approaches.
