Ayush Mhatre, the 17-year-old Mumbai cricketer who impressed in domestic cricket and IPL 2025 with Chennai Super Kings, will lead the India U-19 team on their upcoming tour of England in June-July. The BCCI has announced a 16-member squad, which also includes 14-year-old batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi from Bihar, known for his aggressive starts with Rajasthan Royals.
The tour will include a 50-over warm-up match, a five-match Youth ODI series, and two multi-day games against England U-19. The team will be vice-captained by Mumbai wicketkeeper Abhigyan Kundu.

Punjab’s Vihaan Malhotra, who previously opened the innings alongside Suryavanshi, finds a place in the team. Other familiar faces returning to the squad include Harvansh Pangalia of Saurashtra, Bengal pacer Yudhajit Guha, and the spin duo of Kerala’s Mohammed Enaan and Punjab’s Anmoljeet Singh.
Enaan was a standout performer with 16 wickets in two Youth Tests against Australia U-19, while Anmoljeet picked up 9 wickets in that same series. Harvansh Pangalia made headlines with a century (117) in that series.
Gujarat all-rounder Khilan Patel, who shined in the Cooch Behar Trophy as Player of the Series, has earned his call-up based on his consistent all-round performances.
Other squad members include Maulyarajsinh Chavda, Rahul Kumar, RS Ambrish, Kanishk Chouhan, Henil Patel, Pranav Raghavendra, and Aditya Rana. The standby list features Naman Pushpak, D Deepesh, Vedant Trivedi, Vikalp Tiwari, and wicketkeeper Alankrith Rapole.

The squad will begin their England tour with a warm-up match on June 24 at Loughborough University. The ODIs will be hosted across venues in Hove, Northampton, and Worcester from June 27 to July 7. The two four-day games will be played in Beckenham (July 15) and Chelmsford (July 20).
This tour marks the third major outing for the India U-19 team since the last U-19 World Cup, following home series against Australia U-19 and a runner-up finish in the Asia Cup.
