Arshdeep Singh

India managed to secure a spirited draw in the fourth Test against England at Old Trafford, keeping the series alive. One of the most talked-about moments from the game wasn’t on the field—but in the dressing room stairs, where pacer Arshdeep Singh broke into a cheerful bhangra dance. The clip of the 25-year-old showcasing his bhangra moves quickly went viral on social media, adding a light-hearted finish to a tense match.

India were in deep trouble early in their second innings, reduced to 0/2 while trailing by over 300 runs. But a determined batting display, featuring centuries from Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar, led the team to 425/4 and secured a draw. The series now stands at 2-1 in England’s favour, with one final Test remaining.

Injury Sidelines Arshdeep, But Debut Still on Cards

Though Arshdeep Singh did not feature in the playing XI in Manchester due to a thumb injury sustained during a net session in Beckenham, there’s intense speculation that he may debut in the fifth Test at The Oval.

With Jasprit Bumrah reportedly in line for rest due to workload management and Mohammad Siraj also appearing fatigued, India may look to the tall left-arm seamer as a fresh bowling option.

“Arshdeep Singh was very close to selection in Manchester. If he’s fit, he’s definitely in the conversation for The Oval,” a source close to the team management indicated.

Kuldeep Yadav Could Return to Strengthen Spin Attack

There’s also a growing belief that spinner Kuldeep Yadav may return to the playing XI, possibly replacing Shardul Thakur in the lineup. Bowling coach Morne Morkel had earlier emphasized Kuldeep’s value in the squad.

“𝑨 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝑲𝒖𝒍𝒅𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒃𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒗𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒕𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒍,” 𝑴𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒍 𝒉𝒂𝒅 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅. “𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒙𝒕𝒓𝒂 𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒓, 𝒘𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐𝒑-𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒓𝒖𝒏𝒔.”

With Arshdeep’s enthusiasm on full display and India’s fighting spirit on show, the final Test at The Oval promises to be a thrilling series decider.
