The news that Liverpool’s famous coach Jurgen Klopp might return to coaching has surprised many in the football world. A year ago, Klopp clearly said he wouldn’t go back to coaching right away. Also, reports say he’s not fully happy in his current role as Red Bulls’ ‘Global Head of Soccer.’ Because of this, there are rumors that he might leave that job if he gets the chance to coach a big team like Real Madrid or Brazil.
Brazilian news outlet ‘UOL’ reported that Jurgen Klopp might be interested in leaving his role at Red Bull. They said while Brazil’s football federation (CBF) is looking at big names like Carlo Ancelotti and Jorge Jesus to coach the national team, Klopp could be thinking about coaching again. A source close to Klopp said he might leave Red Bull if a job at Brazil or Real Madrid opens up.
But Klopp’s agent, Marc Kosicke, denied this. He told Sky Germany that Klopp doesn’t want to return to coaching right now. He said, “I know top clubs and national teams are interested in Klopp, but he has no plans to coach any team next season—whether it’s Real Madrid, Brazil, or anyone else.”
Klopp’s agent, Kosic, made it clear that the coach is happy with his current job. He said, “Jürgen is happy as Global Director at Red Bull and still has a contract.” This statement puts an end to rumors that Klopp wants to leave his new role after leaving Liverpool.
Klopp left Liverpool at the end of last season and said he wouldn’t manage another team. However, he joined Red Bull in January last year. Meanwhile, Brazil has been searching for a new head coach since Darival Junior was fired last month. The Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) has shown strong interest in Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti. But Ancelotti’s future with Real Madrid is uncertain after their loss to Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Latin American countries have two World Cup qualifier matches in June, and they must send their preliminary squads to FIFA a few days before that. Brazil still has about a month left. In that time, they need to do several things, like appointing a new coach and officially putting him in charge. According to Brazilian news outlet Globo, FIFA needs a provisional squad list from Brazil by May 18. But it’s not certain the list will be approved by the new coach. Ancelotti has until June 2 to give his final opinion on the squad.
