USA Cricket Directors Call on ICC to Probe Board’s Collapse

USA Cricket

USA Cricket finds itself in turmoil as its elected directors have urged the International Cricket Council (ICC) to intervene and remove a rival faction led by chairperson Venu Pisike, following the collapse of the organization’s governance.

Directors Arjun Rao Gona and Kuljit Singh Nijjar released a joint statement requesting a forensic audit of the board’s operations and demanding that the findings be made public to restore transparency.

“𝑾𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒊𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒅𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒑𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒉, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒓𝒆𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒃𝒓𝒐𝒌𝒆𝒏. 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐 𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓 𝒂 𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕; 𝒊𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒆,” 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅, 𝒂𝒔 𝒒𝒖𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒚 𝑬𝑺𝑷𝑵𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒇𝒐.

Call for Audit and Player Protection

The administrative breakdown reportedly followed a meeting in which five directors — Pisike, Srini Salver, David Haubert, Pintoo Shah, and Anj Balusu — voted for a financial restructure. Four others, including Gona, Nijjar, Nadia Gruny, and Atul Rai, walked out in protest.

Nijjar, Whittaker, and Gona have asked for a Normalisation Committee to take over USA Cricket immediately and to investigate all constitutional breaches and conflicts of interest.

“𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒕 𝒂 𝒇𝒖𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒄 𝒂𝒖𝒅𝒊𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔, 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒔, 𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒍 𝒅𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒎𝒆,” 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒐 𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒅. “𝑺𝒂𝒇𝒆𝒈𝒖𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒓𝒔, 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒅𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒑𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒔 𝒔𝒐 𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒇𝒂𝒏𝒔 𝒅𝒐 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒔𝒖𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒔.”

The directors believe such action is essential to protect the integrity of USA cricket in the United States and to rebuild trust among players and supporters.
