PSL 2025: UAE Refuses to Host, Major Setback for Pakistan Cricket

The UAE has rejected the offer to host the remaining matches of the PSL 2025.

A big report is coming out regarding the Pakistan Cricket Board’s change in the venue for the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League 2025 tournament. The report believes that a source in the UAE has confirmed that the board has rejected the offer to host the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League 2025.

An ECB source said,

“The UAE has a diverse population of South Asians who enjoy cricket. Hosting a tournament like the PSL amid such tense circumstances could spoil harmony, pose a security risk and create unnecessary tension between communities.”

Let us tell you that the Pakistan Cricket Board had said that the remaining matches of PSL 2025 can be hosted in the UAE. Earlier, these matches were to be played in Rawalpindi, Multan and Lahore. The statement said that the matches’ date, time and ground will be shared when the time comes. However, PCB may face a significant setback at the moment.

All this happened when Pakistan launched an attack on India, and the Indian armed forces gave them a befitting reply. UAE does not want to spoil its relationship with India so that it can take this decision.

Pakistan Cricket Board may face a significant setback.

According to the report, the Emirates Cricket Board does not want to give the impression that it is a protege of the PCB and hosting the PSL would provide the same indication. The source said that the Emirates Cricket Board has had a strong relationship with the BCCI in recent years. It has hosted the IPL and India’s matches during the T20 World Cup 2021 and the Champions Trophy 2025. Dubai is also the headquarters of the International Cricket Council, whose president is former BCCI secretary Jay Shah.

Not only this, but the BCCI has also suspended the Indian Premier League 2025 for now. They have announced that the remaining matches of IPL 2025 have been suspended for a week. The game between Punjab Kings and Delhi on May 8 was also cancelled. There was a blackout in Dharamsala during the match.
