Frank Confident in Spurs Ownership Support Despite Growing Pressure

Tottenham Boss Frank Confident of Owners’ Support at Spurs

Tottenham Boss Believes Stability Will Lead to Success

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank insists he has full confidence in the club’s ownership, despite a challenging start to life at Spurs and mounting frustration from supporters. Since arriving from Brentford in June, Frank has managed just one Premier League home victory — their opening-day success against Burnley — leaving Tottenham 12th with 18 points from 13 matches.

When asked if he believes the club’s hierarchy will give him time to turn things around, Frank was clear and calm:

“I’m very confident. They’re intelligent people who understand how long true success takes.”

He added that every major football project requires patience, and he believes the owners recognize that.

Spurs Fans Voice Anger as Home Form Declines

Tension at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium reached new heights after the 2-1 defeat to Fulham, the club’s 10th home league loss of 2025. Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario received loud boos following a costly mistake that led to Fulham’s second goal — an incident Frank strongly condemned.

After the match, he stated that those who jeered Vicario “can’t be true Tottenham fans,” and before facing Newcastle United on Tuesday, Frank clarified that he empathizes with the supporters’ disappointment:

“If you don’t win, frustration is normal. But during matches, we need each other. That’s how you build a fortress.”

Frank emphasized that Tottenham’s strength relies on unity between players, fans, and coaching staff, especially during difficult moments.

Vicario’s Response Shows Character

With Spurs already trailing against Fulham, Vicario misjudged a long ball, sending a weak clearance straight to Harry Wilson, who curled the ball into an empty net. The Italian goalkeeper was booed even as he touched the ball moments later — and the jeers continued at halftime and full-time.

Frank defended his goalkeeper, saying Vicario has the mentality to overcome mistakes:

“Vic is good at handling setbacks. As a goalkeeper, errors happen — responding to them defines your career.”

Vicario later apologized for his part in the loss and acknowledged the supporters’ emotions, saying he took full responsibility for his mistake and accepted the fans’ reactions.

As Tottenham prepare for a crucial away match at Newcastle, Frank remains focused on restoring confidence, rebuilding trust with the fans, and stabilizing the team’s form before the pressure becomes overwhelming.
