Shreyas Iyer

India’s T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav has provided an encouraging update on Shreyas Iyer’s health after the batter sustained a serious spleen injury during the third ODI against Australia in Sydney. The unfortunate incident took place when Iyer took a diving catch to dismiss Alex Carey, landing awkwardly in the process. He was soon rushed to a hospital, where scans revealed a laceration in his spleen.

Following the initial scare, Shreyas Iyer was moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) due to internal bleeding, but is now stable and out of critical care, according to recent reports from Sydney.
