India clinched the Asia Cup 2025 title in Dubai with a five-wicket victory over Pakistan, thanks to strong performances from Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, Tilak Varma, and Sanju Samson. After the win, several players reflected on the match and their experiences.
Varun and Kuldeep Praise Team Effort
Varun Chakravarthy shared his delight in breaking Pakistan’s momentum, especially when Fakhar Zaman and Sahibzada Farhan were batting fluently.

Kuldeep Yadav emphasized the importance of the middle overs and credited the team analyst for preparing effective plans. He also praised Tilak Varma’s batting brilliance.
“Before the game, Hari [analyst] sent us detailed plans of where to bowl, and it worked perfectly. Tilak’s innings today was simply outstanding,” Kuldeep remarked.
Samson Enjoys the Pressure of Big Games
Sanju Samson, who played a crucial innings under pressure, admitted he relished the challenge of an India-Pakistan encounter.

He highlighted how years of IPL experience helped him adapt to conditions and stay composed. Samson also said such tight matches test a player’s mental strength and prepare them for bigger stages like the World Cup.
Gill Reflects on Unbeaten Campaign
Shubman Gill, who played a steady role in India’s chase, celebrated India’s unbeaten run in the tournament. He praised his batting partner Abhishek Sharma for easing pressure at the crease.
He added that the partnership between Samson and Tilak laid the foundation, while Shivam Dube’s late sixes sealed the win.
