Mohamed Salah’s future at Liverpool appeared uncertain after he was left out of three straight Premier League matches and then omitted from the Champions League squad. The situation sparked widespread speculation that the Egyptian star’s time at Anfield was nearing its end. Tensions escalated further following a reported heated exchange with head coach Arne Slot, raising doubts over Salah’s inclusion for Saturday’s clash against Brighton.
However, Liverpool’s coaching staff opted for dialogue over division. Slot held discussions with last season’s top scorer in a bid to resolve the issue, and the talks appear to have eased tensions. As a result, Salah is expected to be back in the squad for Liverpool’s final match of the year before he departs for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Slot and Salah Hold Talks as Club Prioritizes Unity
The situation intensified after Salah gave a fiery interview following Liverpool’s 3–3 draw with Leeds United. Shortly after, he was dropped for the Champions League match against Inter Milan. The forward expressed frustration, suggesting he felt sidelined by the club and that his relationship with Slot had deteriorated.
That strained relationship now seems to be improving. Following a meeting on Friday, a decision was taken to reintegrate Salah into the team in the club’s best interests, with further talks planned after his return from international duty.

When asked whether he wanted Salah to remain at Liverpool amid speculation of a possible exit, Slot responded cautiously:
“There’s no reason not to want him to.”
Whether Salah features after missing four matches — and whether this appearance could mark his final game for Liverpool — remains uncertain, leaving fans anxiously waiting for clarity on the future of one of the club’s greatest modern icons.
