Sahibzada Farhan Confident After Powerplay vs India

Despite Pakistan’s defeat to India in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup, opener Sahibzada Farhan believes the team showcased their potential with a fiery start in the powerplay. Farhan’s quickfire 50 off 34 balls set the tone as Pakistan raced to 91/1 in ten overs, their highest midway total against India.

Farhan on Powerplay Positives

Speaking after the match, Farhan expressed optimism ahead of Pakistan’s next clash against Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi.

“𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒘𝒆 𝒃𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐𝒅𝒂𝒚, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒚𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒕𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝑨𝒃𝒖 𝑫𝒉𝒂𝒃𝒊 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒂𝒕, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒆’𝒍𝒍 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒘𝒊𝒏,” 𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅.

Celebration and Future Hopes

Farhan also addressed his gun-style celebration after reaching his half-century, calling it a spontaneous act.

“𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒂 𝒔𝒑𝒖𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕. 𝑰 𝒓𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑰 𝒈𝒐𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒂 𝒔𝒖𝒅𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒄𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒆,” 𝑭𝒂𝒓𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒅.

Looking ahead, the opener expressed hope for another face-off with India. “We’d love to meet India again in the final,” he said, as Pakistan now turn focus to the crucial match against Sri Lanka, which could decide their fate in the tournament.
