Pakistan Unleash Four-Minute Storm to Crush Bangladesh

SAFF Futsal

The SAFF Futsal tournaments for both men and women are in full swing in Bangkok, Thailand. In their fifth men’s match, Bangladesh suffered a heavy 1-5 defeat against a relentless Pakistan side that finished strong in the closing minutes.

Pakistan held a narrow 1-0 lead at halftime, thanks to Ali Agha’s strike in the 18th minute. With saff futsal played in two 20-minute halves, Bangladesh hoped to regroup after the break, but the momentum stayed with Pakistan.

The second half saw both teams push forward, with Pakistan doubling their advantage through Zayed Uddin Khan in the 31st minute. Bangladesh briefly fought back when Fayed Azim pulled one back in the 36th minute, raising hopes of a comeback.

However, the final four minutes turned into a decisive storm. Salar Ahmed struck in the 37th minute before Zayed Uddin Khan and Ali Agha added two more goals in the final minute to complete a dominant 5-1 victory.

Seven teams are competing in both the men’s and women’s events, with each side playing six matches. The team with the most points will be crowned champion. After five games, Bangladesh’s men sit on 7 points, while Pakistan leads with 10. A draw for Pakistan against India in their final match would rule out Bangladesh from finishing runner-up. Bangladesh’s last fixture is against Nepal.

On the women’s side, Bangladesh’s Sabinas remain strong title contenders with 10 points from four matches. They face Pakistan tomorrow in a key clash scheduled for 1 PM Bangladesh time.
