Rohit Sharma created history in the IPL 2025 Eliminator match against Gujarat Titans at the Mullanpur Stadium on 30 May 2025. The Mumbai Indians veteran batsman crossed the 7000-run mark in his 266th IPL innings, becoming the second batsman to achieve this feat, the first being Virat Kohli.

He reached the milestone by scoring 43 runs in the eliminator against Gujarat, which included a brilliant sweep shot off Rashid Khan to complete 300 sixes in the IPL.

Rohit, popularly known as ‘Hitman’, has always won the hearts of fans with his batting. In this match, he, along with Jonny Bairstow, gave Mumbai a great start in the powerplay. Despite being dropped initially for 12 runs, He found his rhythm and targeted bowlers like Sai Kishore and Rashid Khan. His 47th half-century innings not only strengthened the team but also showed his experience and skill.

Rohit, who started his IPL career with Deccan Chargers in 2008, began a golden period after joining Mumbai Indians in 2011. He led Mumbai to five IPL titles and has so far scored over 7000 runs in 271 matches, including 2 centuries and 47 half-centuries. His best score is 109 not out, which he achieved against the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2012.

Even at the age of 38, Rohit’s batting has the same charm and aggression that make him an icon of the IPL. It is a proud moment for the fans that the ‘Hitman’ has once again proved that he is unmatched in this great Kumbh of cricket. Rohit was out in this match after scoring 81 runs in 50 balls.
