Rohit, Kohli’s ‘Last Dance’ Leaves Australian Commentator in Tears — Watch Video

Rohit

An Australian commentator was left teary-eyed while witnessing Indian legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli bat together—perhaps for the final time on Australian soil.

The recently concluded three-match ODI series between India and Australia turned out to be an emotional spectacle for cricket fans across the globe, especially those who have followed the two stalwarts through their long and illustrious careers. Both players returned to international cricket after a seven-month break. Having already retired from T20Is in 2024 and Tests earlier this year, Rohit and Kohli now feature exclusively in the 50-over format.

Kohli-Rohit masterclass stirs emotions in Sydney

During the third and final ODI in Sydney, the iconic duo produced a vintage performance, stitching a 168-run partnership for the second wicket off 169 balls. Their brilliance guided India to chase down 237 runs in just 38.3 overs with nine wickets in hand. Rohit Sharma stayed unbeaten on 121 off 125 balls, while Kohli anchored from the other end with 74 not out off 81 deliveries.

“𝑰𝒕’𝒔 𝒎𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍. 𝑾𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑹𝒐𝒉𝒊𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑲𝒐𝒉𝒍𝒊 𝒕𝒐𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏—𝒊𝒕’𝒔 𝒑𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒄,” 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓, 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒗𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒄𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒅𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒓𝒐𝒂𝒅𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒕.

A viral clip shared by Sen Cricket captured the heartwarming moment as the Australian commentator struggled to hold back tears, overwhelmed by nostalgia and admiration for the pair’s synergy at the crease.

Rohit named Player of the Series

Rohit Sharma’s consistent brilliance earned him the Player of the Series award, following a fifty in the second ODI in Adelaide and a sublime century in Sydney. Kohli, after back-to-back ducks in the first two games, bounced back in trademark fashion in the final ODI.

“𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒚’𝒗𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒓𝒂 𝒐𝒇 𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒕. 𝑺𝒆𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎 𝒕𝒐𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒂𝒎𝒆,” 𝒂 𝒇𝒂𝒏 𝒘𝒓𝒐𝒕𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝑿 (𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒍𝒚 𝑻𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓).

Though India won the final ODI, Australia clinched the series 2-1. The two teams will now gear up for a five-match T20I series, starting October 29 at the Manuka Oval in Canberra.
