Barcelona faces important transfer decisions as the season progresses, and the future of veteran striker Robert Lewandowski is at the center of attention. With his contract nearing expiration, it remains uncertain whether the Polish forward will continue in Catalonia or consider other options.
Robert Lewandowski on His Future
In an interview with Polish journalist Bogdan Rymanowski (via Sport), Robert Lewandowski admitted that no decision has been made regarding his next step.
“I still have time to make a decision. Right now, I don’t know where I want to play. There’s no need to think about it yet. I don’t know which direction to take, but I don’t feel any pressure. I am not discussing clubs with the coach, and it’s not about cutting my salary in half. Much depends on the club’s plans and what I want,” said Robert Lewandowski.
The 2025–26 season has been challenging for Lewandowski, who has struggled with injuries. He opened up about these difficulties in the same interview.
“Maybe I’ll start talking about it in a while, but for now, I had a difficult start to the season. I was injured twice, which made it hard to get into the line-up, especially with so many matches coming up in January, February, and March. In the second part of the season, I want to focus on preparing physically, staying healthy, and giving my all,” explained Lewandowski.
Despite the early setbacks, Lewandowski remains determined to achieve major successes this season.
“I hope we play in a way that will help us qualify for the World Cup. I want to achieve everything: qualifying for the World Cup, winning La Liga, and lifting the Champions League. I know these are my final years in football, so I want to make them count,” stated Lewandowski.
