Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) head coach Andy Flower revealed how a smart auction strategy helped his team end an 18-year-long wait for their maiden IPL title. RCB won their maiden IPL trophy by defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 6 runs in the final of the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

After this historic win, Andy Flower explained how their auction strategy laid the foundation for this victory. RCB entered the mega auction with a purse of Rs 83 crore and spent it wisely to build a strong team.

Talking about Virat Kohli‘s performance in IPL 2025, he scored 657 runs in 15 innings of 15 matches at an average of 54.57. During this, his highest score was 73 not out, and he scored all these runs at a strike rate of 144.71. A total of 8 half-century innings have been seen from Virat’s bat in this entire season. Due to his excellent performance, RCB was able to performed well this season. Earlier, RCB had managed to reach the finals three times, but they had to face defeat each time.
