Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja has finally addressed the much-talked-about captaincy saga during IPL 2022, where he briefly took over the leadership of Chennai Super Kings from MS Dhoni. Just before the season began, Dhoni made a surprising announcement, stepping down as CSK captain, handing the baton to Jadeja. However, things went south quickly as Chennai managed only two wins in the first eight matches, with Jadeja’s form also taking a hit.

“All the Blame Always Falls on the Captain”

Speaking on the YouTube show Kutti Stories With Ash, hosted by his teammate Ravichandran Ashwin, Jadeja shared how tough the situation was.

“𝑰𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒅𝒊𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒕. 𝑰𝒏 𝑻20𝒔, 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝒘𝒂𝒔𝒏’𝒕 𝒅𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒆𝒍𝒍, 𝒔𝒐 𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒊𝒔 𝒃𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒅,” 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅 𝑱𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒋𝒂.

The short-lived captaincy stint came to an end when Ravindra stepped down mid-season, requesting Dhoni to take charge once again. According to reports, the decision came after discussions with head coach Stephen Fleming, Dhoni, and team owner N Srinivasan. The official line from the franchise was that Jadeja wanted to focus more on his game, but fans and experts speculated about internal tensions between the senior players.

Despite the drama, He emphasized that the experience taught him valuable lessons, especially about leadership under pressure.
