Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin faced direct criticism during a recent YouTube live session when a fan urged him to leave the franchise ahead of the next IPL season. Purchased for a hefty Rs 9.75 crore, Ashwin struggled to make an impact in IPL 2025, managing just seven wickets in nine matches and scoring 33 runs. His underwhelming performance coincided with CSK’s worst-ever IPL season, where they finished at the bottom of the points table and missed the playoffs for the first time in franchise history.

He also revealed the emotional toll this season has taken on him, stating that he has never been so disappointed in his IPL career. Ashwin stressed his intention to improve especially in the powerplay overs, acknowledging the need to offer more bowling options for CSK moving forward.
