Nitish Kumar Reddy in Legal Row Over ₹5 Crore Dispute with Former Agency

Nitish Reddy Sued Over ₹5 Crore Dues by Former Agency

Indian cricketer Nitish Kumar Reddy is facing legal action as his former player management agency, Square The One, has dragged him to court over unpaid dues amounting to over ₹5 crore. The dispute has now escalated to the Delhi High Court.

Agency Alleges Breach of Contract and Unpaid Dues

The breakdown of Reddy’s professional relationship with Square The One reportedly occurred during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Post the fallout, Reddy switched to another manager who also represents a fellow Indian cricketer from the same tour.

The agency has filed a petition under Section 11(6) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, accusing Reddy of breaching the contract and failing to clear his dues. The hearing is scheduled for July 28 in Delhi High Court.

“𝑾𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆 2021 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒑𝒆𝒅 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒘 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚. 𝑯𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒖𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒑𝒂𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒔 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒅𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈,” 𝒂 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒂 𝑻𝒐𝒅𝒂𝒚.

The petition calls for an independent arbitrator to look into the allegations of unpaid dues and unlawful termination of the contract.

Reddy’s Form Slumps After Test Debut

Nitish Kumar Reddy came into the limelight with a solid Test debut during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy but has struggled since. He had an underwhelming IPL 2025 season with Sunrisers Hyderabad and continued playing despite carrying an injury.

“𝑵𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒕𝒚 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒔𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒑𝒖𝒕𝒆𝒔 𝒈𝒆𝒕 𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒚. 𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒅𝒊𝒅𝒏’𝒕,” 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒄𝒆 𝒂𝒅𝒅𝒆𝒅.

He later participated in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, increasing his bowling workload ahead of India’s Test series against England. Unfortunately, after decent performances in the Birmingham and Lord’s Tests, Reddy suffered a knee injury that ruled him out for the rest of the season.
